Gardacon sets a record: 28,000 visitors for the fifth edition of the comics, games and pop culture fair

Gardacon

The success of the exhibition dedicated to the world of comics, cosplay, cartoons and video games continues to grow year after year. After doubling in 2022 with the classic spring edition and the new autumn one, the event organized by Centro Fiera Montichiari on Saturday 25 and Sunday 26 March once again welcomed families and enthusiasts who flocked from all over Italy.

A great party dedicated to fun in all its forms, two days to spend carefree that attracted over 28,000 visitors: the Gardacon formula, which brings together the wonderful fantasy worlds of comics, video games and cartoons in one place animated, it is confirmed to be of absolute liking.

Accompanying the public on an immersive and memorable journey, the Brescia show explores the interests and passions of kids of all ages: from those who grew up in the 1980s with arcades, the Commodore 64 and bricks to digital natives, who entertain themselves in areas dedicated to virtual reality, dance to the tune of k-pop and meet the web’s most popular designers live.
The flagship of the just concluded edition of Gardacon is precisely the bricks area, which grows to occupy an entire pavilion of almost 4000 square meters: hundreds of demonstrators and artists coordinated by the Mocbricks and Family Brick associations allowed the public to experience the experience linked to the bricks both as spectators and as protagonists.

Eyes amazed and amazed by the monumental works of Stefano Mapelli, who in partnership with Il Mattoncino Colore exhibited dioramas unique in the world such as the Temple of Horus, Notre Dame, and Minas Tirith, the fortress city inspired by the imaginary universe of the “Lord of the Rings”, made with over one hundred thousand bricks.

Great success for the interview on stage with Iginio Massari, internationally renowned master pastry chef and icon of popular culture, but also for the voice actors Pietro Ubaldi (voice of Doraeomon and Taz), Davide Garbolino (Ash Ketchum in “Pokémon”), Margherita De Risi (Mirabel in “Encanto”), Giò Giò Rapattoni (singer in the live action of “Beauty and the Beast”). To close the two days the performances of Cristina D’Avena and Giorgio Vanni, the beloved interpreters of the cartoon theme songs, who interpreted their greatest hits live.

«Gardacon once again proves to be a solid reality and a point of reference within the national comics & games calendar», says Ezio Zorzi, director of Centro Fiera Montichiari. «With an influx of visitors above expectations and a commercial growth of 50%, our event confirms a positive trend that we intend to consolidate with the next autumn edition, scheduled for 11 and 12 November».
