Saturday 11 and Sunday 12 March, at the Centro Fiera Montichiari, the first of the two appointments of the year returns with Fiera dell’Elettronica, the market exhibition dedicated to vintage radios, components and equipment for amateur radio, computer science , electronics, hi-tech. In the two complete pavilions of the 58th edition, collectors and enthusiasts will have a complete overview of what the market offers today, with the opportunity to closely evaluate the best offers and look for collectible rarities.

Fiera dell’Elettronica is made up of several special areas: Radiantistica Expò, with the best of the commercial offer and consumer information technology; the Radiomercatino di Portobello, with a broad overview of vintage radios, components and collectible materials; the Ham Radio Area reserved for cutting-edge technologies for radio amateurs; the Vinyl Fair, a section entirely dedicated to a support that has made the history of music and never ceases to conquer collectors of all ages.

HISTORY OF VINTAGE RADIO “DA BEDSIDE” IN THE A.I.R.E.

The appointment with Fiera dell’Elettronica is enhanced by a highly interesting exhibition promoted by A.I.R.E. (Italian Association for Vintage Radio). In pavilion 5 historically dedicated to the radio, in fact, visitors will be able to appreciate an exhibition entitled “Bedside radios“.
This expression refers to small-sized appliances, made between the second post-war period and the mid-1960s. At that time, in the Italy of the economic boom, the cost of the so-called bedside radios was increasingly less prohibitive and for many families, in addition to the “home” device that normally resided in the living room, it was possible to purchase a second model to listen to in bedroom. The exhibition will be an opportunity to rediscover up close the models that have made the history of radio and which, in their beauty and simplicity, tell the story of an era full of enthusiasm and faith in the future.

RADIOMERCATINO DI PORTOBELLO: LOOKING FOR COLLECTORS’ ITEMS

The presence of the Radiomercatino di Portobello is confirmed at Fiera dell’Elettronica, the exchange exhibition dedicated to vintage radios, rarities and second-hand and collectible materials. The 44th edition brings to the fair an exhibition that will delight all enthusiasts. The exhibition layout and the presence of a complete overview of unique pieces, rich in history and often very rare, will guarantee visitors a pleasant and fulfilling experience.


HAM RADIO: LATEST GENERATION TECHNOLOGIES WITH WORLDWIDE BRANDS IN THE SECTOR

The expression “Ham Radio” is synonymous with “Amateur Radio” and identifies the vast world of radio amateurs and radio broadcasting enthusiasts in the broadest sense of the term. As per tradition, within the Electronics Fair, the Ham Radio Area is entirely dedicated to this particular sector and sees the participation of a selection of highly specialized exhibitors from the amateur radio sector. On display, RTX equipment and latest generation accessories, with the main world brands in the sector.

VINYL: A TIMELESS PASSION THAT UNITES GENERATIONS

On the occasion of Fiera dell’Elettronica 2024, the Vinyl Fair returns, a section entirely dedicated to music and vinyl records enthusiasts. Visitors will be able to immerse themselves in an offer full of precious rarities but also of titles that have impressed themselves in the collective memory and are remembered today with affection and nostalgia. The area dedicated to vinyl will offer a thousand opportunities not to be missed for collectors, always in search of the most coveted rarity, but also for the simple curious who are rediscovering this unique medium, capable of uniting generations and making immortal the melodies that made the history.

CONTEST UNIVERSITY ITALY: THE INTERNATIONAL CONTEST MAKES A STOP IN MONTICHIARI

Now historic appointment of Fiera dell’Elettronica, the Contest University Italy confirms itself as the key event for radio amateurs and lovers of amateur radio. The appointment is set for Saturday 11 March, at 10.00, in Sala Scalvini (first floor, central entrance) with a parterre of high-level speakers and topics of great interest for radio amateurs and technology enthusiasts. The Contest University Italy is one of the most eagerly awaited events proposed within the Electronics Fair and, over the years, has allowed many radio amateurs to deal with leading figures for the international contest and to establish a dialogue which, in edition, is a source of mutual enrichment and human growth.

ICOM DAY: THE NEW ADVANTEC EVENT AT FIERA DELL’ELETTRONICA

As part of Fiera dell’Elettronica, the spotlight will turn on ICOM DAY, an appointment organized by Advantec and reserved for all radio enthusiasts, in particular for lovers of the historic Japanese brand. The event will be held on Saturday 11 March, from 10.00 to 12.30, in Sala Pedini (second floor, central entrance) with a parterre of prominent speakers: the company Advantec, importer of the Icom brand since 2017, will present its business , while expert radio amateurs will analyze the technology and peculiarities of unique products of their kind. On the occasion of ICOM DAY, the new IC-905 will be launched for the Italian market, the first multi-band VHF/UHF/SHF transceiver covering 144/430/1200/2400/5600 MHz and 10 GHz multi-mode SSB, CW, RTTY , AM, FM, ATV, including D-STAR.
Furthermore, the relaunch of the sister device IC-705 will be carried out, a portable transceiver with HF+50/144/430 MHz multimode coverage SSB, CW, RTTY, AM, FM, including D-STAR, which having been produced in the difficult period of shortage of electronic components with consequent slowdown in deliveries, was unable to benefit from the proper attention it deserves.

The appointment with the 58th edition of Fiera dell’Elettronica, therefore, is at Centro Fiera Montichiari on Saturday 11, from 9.00 to 18.00, and Sunday 12 March, from 9.00 to 17.00.
