The entire Montichiari exhibition center is completely occupied, over 400 exhibitors and breeders, three high-profile national livestock exhibitions (Friesian breed, Jersey breed for the milk system and the Cunicola exhibition), the announced presence of the ministers Stefano Patuanelli (Agricultural policies , food and forestry) and Mariastella Gelmini (Regional and autonomy affairs), of the president of the Lombardy Region Attilio Fontana and of the regional councilors Fabio Rolfi (Agriculture) and Guido Guidesi (Economic development), of the MEP Paolo De Castro.

It is now the countdown for the inauguration of the 93rd edition of the FAZI Italian Zootechnical Agricultural Fair, scheduled from Friday 5 November to Sunday 7 November at the Centro Fiera di Montichiari. “We are proud to be able to host, after particularly difficult months, a sold out edition of FAZI, with over 47,000 square meters covered, of which 13,000 are dedicated to top-level livestock exhibitions – declares Gianantonio Rosa, president of the Centro Fiera di Montichiari -. We grasp the enthusiasm among the exhibitors and the desire to confront the agricultural world to face the challenges of the future, which concern economic and environmental sustainability, production models careful to contain emissions and with the competitiveness of the agri-food chains to act as a driving force. to an Italian agricultural system that is at the top of Europe for its ability to enhance raw materials and quality agri-food products “.

The opening of the Fazi will be on Friday 5 November at 9 am, with the official inauguration in the presence of the authorities scheduled for Saturday 6 November at 10.

This 93rd edition of the Fazi is for us a sign of trust for a sector that is highly competitive and that is seizing the opportunities of the incentives provided by Agriculture 4.0 and the Rural Development Programs, to innovate on the front of sustainability, cost reduction and multifunctionality, with renewable energies that combine the improvement of the environmental impact and diversified sources of income for agricultural businesses ”, comments the director of Centro Fiera Montichiari, Ezio Zorzi.

Two major competitions animate the zootechnical ring, with the choice of the National Association of Friesian, Brown and Jersey breeders (ANAFIBJ) to identify FAZI as a partner to organize “Welcome back National”, which certifies the growth of an event transversal and prestigious as the Italian Agricultural Livestock Fair.
In the three days of the event, with a focus also on students of agricultural institutes, the 69th National Friesian Show and the 10th Jersey Breed Show will be held in Montichiari, key events for dairy cattle breeding in a region like Lombardy that produces alone 45% of Italian milk and which sees the province of Brescia undisputed leader with an annual production that exceeded 1.55 million tons of milk in 2020 (source: Clal.it).

The conferences. As per tradition, Fazi will host high-level events and conferences for the training of professional visitors (the complete list and updates are available on the website www.fieragri.it).

Under the lens, in particular, the appointment organized by ANAFIBJ “The holistic selection of the dairy cow”, scheduled for Friday 5 November at 9:30 (Sala Pedini); “Guidelines for carbon neutrality in beef cattle farms”, promoted by CREA (Friday 9:30 am, Room 4); “Zootechnics: the prospects of the milk and pig sectors”, organized by Confagricoltura Brescia (10 am, Sala Scalvini); “The NRP for agriculture: the role of biogas and biomethane”, promoted by Biogas 4.0 (2.30 pm, Scalvini Room); “Refresher course for Milking Service Technicians, new Gea FT instruments”, promoted by the Italian Breeders Association (Room 4, 3 pm).

Saturday 6 November (11 am, Sala Pedini), focus on “The future of Italian stables in European challenges: between the new CAP and the Farm to Fork strategy”, organized by Coldiretti, with the presence of President Ettore Prandini, the Minister of Agricultural Policies Stefano Patuanelli, the president of the Lombardy Region Attilio Fontana and the regional councilor for agriculture Fabio Rolfi, the commander of the Carabinieri Health Protection Paolo Carra, the Hon. Paolo De Castro.

Environmental sustainability and environmental impact in animal husbandry will be the themes of the conference “The Approach project”, promoted by ARA Lombardia and the University of Milan (Saturday, 11 am, Room 4); in Sala Scalvini (2.30 pm) ARA Lombardia, ATS and ANAS will talk about “African swine fever, an emerging disease worth knowing”.
Saturday 6 November, at 2.30 pm, in Sala Pedini, Coldiretti will organize the round table dedicated to “The recovery of the country on the routes of Italian food”, with speeches by Ettore Prandini (President Coldiretti), Giancarlo Giorgetti (Minister of Economic Development) , Guido Guidesi (councilor for economic development of the Lombardy Region), Luigi Scordamaglia (managing director of the Italian Industry), Gianpiero Calzolari (president of Granarolo).

Sunday 7 November (10 am, Room 1), ARA Lombardia together with ATS Lombardia, University of Milan and Coldiretti Lombardia will explore the topic “Correct use of the drug and counteracting antimicrobial resistance”.
