Thanks to the partnership with Hannover Fairs International GmbH and INTERSCHUTZ , the world’s leading specialized trade fair held every five years in Hanover, REAS has opened again more to technology transfer and knowledge exchange with major European partners and players in the sector. Today the fair is an opportunity for all-out confrontation, in a European key, where the protagonists of the Italian emergency management system can increase their technical knowledge and develop an increasingly integrated and effective approach to emergency management.

THE PRESENCE OF THE CIVIL PROTECTION DEPARTMENT AT REAS
REAS can count on the presence of State Bodies and Bodies operating in the various levels in which the national emergency management protocol is divided . At the top is the Department of Civil Protection which, on the occasion of the 2021 edition of REAS, will illustrate its activities with a stand at the fair. Furthermore, at the ribbon cutting ceremony, the presence of the Head of Department Fabrizio Curcio is expected who, on Saturday, together with the officials in charge, will speak at some conferences and panels of the fair. Civil Protection will also exhibit at REAS a particular self-propelled plate capable of simulating seismic events, created in collaboration with Eucentre Foundation , the European Center for Training and Research in Engineering Seismic of Pavia. The project aims to promote awareness of seismic risk, increasing the awareness of the population. In fact, the instrumentation will allow REAS visitors to experience a seismic event and better understand the importance of a modern anti-seismic design of buildings.

AIB ROUND TABLE: THE POINT ON WOOD FIRE FIGHTING

A WOOD FIRE FIGHTING DEMONSTRATION WITH AIRBUS H125
Sunday 10 October, at 2.00 pm, REAS hosts a forest fire fighting demonstration with the help of a helicopter by the Austrian company < strong> Heli Austria , specialized in this type of intervention, in collaboration with the Misericordia Christophorus Dolomiti of Bolzano. The Airbus H125 helicopter stands out for its power (more than 900 horsepower) and great maneuverability. This vehicle is often used as a light helicopter for forest fire fighting, both in Italy and abroad. In the demonstration proposed at REAS, the specialized pilot will demonstrate how a fire is extinguished through an external water “basket” called “Bambi Bucket” which can contain more than 1,000 liters of water at each load. Several extinguishing maneuvers will be carried out that will demonstrate how effective this technology is in the containment and extinguishing action of forest fires.

CIVIL PROTECTION, THIRD SECTOR AND VOLUNTEERING: THE AIFOS WORKSHOPS
On the occasion of REAS 2021, AiFOS Civil Protection organizes a series of free workshops for volunteers and emergency sector operators. THE FUTURE IS ALREADY HERE: THE CO.E.S. FOR RESCUE DRIVERS
“The future is already here”. This is the evocative title of the Co.E.S. scheduled for Saturday 9 October as part of REAS. The training event promoted by the National Association of Health Emergency Drivers will illustrate the intervention approach in the rescue in tunnels and on hybrid-electric propulsion vehicles. Co.E.S. has always been very active in the training of driver-rescuers, transmitting the theoretical and practical skills to intervene safely in the main risk contexts.

THE DRIVER OF THE YEAR TROPHY AND THE FORMULA SAFE DRIVING FORMULA
Formula Guida Sicura confirms its presence at REAS with a stand at the fair and two engaging events open to all. The first is the E.M.O. aimed at drivers of medical vehicles which will take place in the days preceding the Show, Wednesday 6 and Thursday 7 October. Two days that will prepare students to acquire the skills necessary for a better management of the health vehicle from a theoretical, methodological and practical point of view. The second appointment is the ninth edition of the traditional “Driver of the Year” Trophy dedicated to drivers of emergency vehicles. The presence at REAS of CIVES Nurses for Emergency is also confirmed for 2021. One of the most anticipated events within REAS 2021 is the new edition of the Rescue Dog Trophy promoted by Sartoria Schiavi. The contest is aimed at all dog units of civil protection volunteer associations active in the country and brings to the fair a concrete demonstration of the operation of rescue dogs in emergency contexts. In the latest edition, which was proposed in 2019, the trophy has garnered many acclaim, being appreciated for the high technical level of the units involved and for the spectacular aspects of the various tests.

Waiting for the next edition postponed by a year to be held from 8 to 10 October 2021, on Friday 2, Saturday 3 and Sunday 4 October, REAS has promoted a program of conferences, seminars and online courses dedicated to some key themes for the sector, also in light of the experience gained in recent months in the management of the pandemic linked to Covid-19. The events proposed by voluntary organizations and associations were followed by the REAS website and Facebook page during the days of 2, 3 and 4 October. A virtual moment to send a real message of resilience and trust.

Friday ended with the semiary edited by the Italian Relief Corps of the Order of Malta entitled “COVID-19: the experience and activities in the CISOM territory“. This year the appointment took place in an unprecedented online formula which involved, under the skilful direction of Franco Pasargiklian, director of the magazine “La Protezione Civile Italiana“, AIB representatives from the positions of the Liguria Region, Lombardy Region, Puglia Region , Piedmont Region and Tuscany Region. Dr. Dario Negro brought the greeting of the head of the head of the National Civil Protection Department Angelo Borrelli. From the various interventions, testimonies and experiences emerged on the activities carried out in recent months, with the aim of putting in place a series of concrete proposals to make the management of the fire emergency even more coordinated and effective.
